In Thalia Dalecky's practice, profile faces are a fundamental motif, silent presences, signals of an essentialized humanity. Totems transposes them into a pared-back geometric form: a few lines in stoneware, a ceramic bar as support, and two figures that seem to face each other in the light. The decorative object becomes a luminous sculpture; formal restraint carries sensory depth.
