For its first collaboration with Caroline Andréoni La Maison, Studio Datcha conceived and designed a range of decorative ceramic objects including a vase, a footed fruit bowl, and a cachepot. The objects' rounded silhouettes are adorned with handles forming scrolls and arabesques reminiscent of Art Nouveau and the leading figure of Catalan Modernism, the architect Antoni Gaudí.

These glazed earthenware objects are entirely handcrafted by a Moroccan potter working in the Atlas Mountains. A guardian of a centuries-old tradition, he has taken over the family workshop and perpetuates a precious craft. Each piece is individually thrown by hand using the mixed clay technique. This involves blending white and red clays to create random, marbled or zebra-like patterns in natural terracotta hues. Each object is thus completely unique. They bear witness to techniques passed down through generations and the time spent crafting each piece of pottery. Beyond their utilitarian function, the two designers wanted to give these pieces a decidedly decorative and sculptural quality, so that each one stands on its own.
